This site is an informational resource about the Hi-Fi murders, the 1974 robbery and triple murder at the Hi-Fi Shop in Ogden, Utah. It is built for people researching the case: true crime readers, students, podcast listeners, and anyone trying to get the facts straight.
How we handle the facts
Pages here draw on court records, contemporary news reporting, published books, and standard reference works. Where accounts differ, we say so. The case involves disputed claims, especially around the appeals, and we try to present them fairly rather than pick a side.
What we do not publish
This was a real crime with real victims, two of whom survived and whose families are still living. We do not publish crime scene photographs of the victims, and we do not dramatize the violence for effect. Some pages describe what happened plainly because the facts matter to the case, but the goal is information, not shock.
